Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using Clapd ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. What Clapd is

Clapd is an AI-powered reply assistant that helps you craft witty, contextual responses to messages. It is intended for personal, non-commercial use. The AI-generated content is provided as suggestions — you are responsible for how you use them.

3. Accounts

  • You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
  • You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
  • You may not create accounts for others or share your account.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Subscriptions and billing

  • Clapd Pro is available as a Monthly plan (includes a 3-day free trial) or a Weekly plan (no trial). Current pricing is $9.99/month or $4.99/week via the App Store and Google Play, or $7.99/month or $3.99/week via clapd.app. The price shown to you at checkout is the price that applies — it may vary slightly by region, currency, or platform.
  • If you start a Monthly trial, it begins when you complete checkout and you are not charged during the 3-day trial period. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited once you purchase a subscription.
  • Subscriptions automatically renew (matching your plan's billing period) unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your payment method is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
  • How you manage or cancel depends on how you subscribed:
    • App Store (iOS): Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Clapd.
    • Google Play (Android): Play Store app → Menu → Subscriptions → Clapd.
    • clapd.app (web): visit clapd.app/manage.
    Cancelling stops future renewals — you keep Pro access until the end of the current billing period.
  • All payments are processed by Stripe, Apple, or Google Play, depending on how you subscribed. We never store your full payment details.
  • Refunds for App Store purchases are handled directly by Apple; refunds for Google Play purchases are handled directly by Google. For web (Stripe) purchases, contact support@clapd.app.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Clapd to:

  • Harass, threaten, or harm other people
  • Generate or distribute illegal, defamatory, or abusive content
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or abuse the app or its API
  • Use the app for spam or automated messaging at scale

We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate this policy without notice.

6. AI-generated content

Replies generated by Clapd are produced by AI and may not always be accurate, appropriate, or suitable. You are solely responsible for reviewing and deciding whether to use any generated content. Clapd is not liable for consequences arising from AI-generated replies.

7. Intellectual property

Clapd and its original content, features, and design are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of any content you input into the app.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

Clapd is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that AI-generated content will meet your expectations.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Clapd and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

10. App Store & Google Play terms

If you downloaded Clapd through Apple's App Store or Google Play, the following additional terms apply:

  • This agreement is between you and Clapd only — not with Apple Inc. or Google LLC. Apple and Google are not responsible for the app or its content.
  • Your license to use the app is limited to a non-transferable license to use it on an Apple or Android device that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store's or Google Play's own usage rules.
  • Apple and Google have no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
  • In the event the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple or Google, and they may refund the purchase price for that app; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple and Google have no other warranty obligation for the app.
  • Clapd, not Apple or Google, is responsible for addressing any claims you or a third party may have relating to the app.
  • Apple and Google, and their respective subsidiaries, are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and upon your acceptance, each will have the right to enforce these terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
  • App Store purchases are additionally subject to Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions. Google Play purchases are additionally subject to Google Play's Terms of Service.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Clapd after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notice.
